Dominical is a small, laid back town in Costa Rica bordered by unspoiled rainforests and scenic coastline. The town is known to appeal to serious surfers uninterested in the scene at some of the more popular surf spots in Costa Rica although the town does offer a great atmosphere with lively clubs, bars and restaurants. Overall, the draw of Dominical is that it is considered to have the most consistent wave activity in Costa Rica with its rippable beach break that attracts all skill levels. Nearby point breaks offer some varied wave activity for more seasoned surfers, beckoning international thrill seekers from Europe, Australia and North America.

Dominical can be reached through the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica by arranging shuttle transportation to the town or from the airport in Quepos which is closer to Dominical but not as easy to connect through.
