Golden Gate Park Disc Golf Course, California
View Original Description
San Francisco’s first disc golf course is located in Golden Gate Park in Northern California. It is open to the public and free to play. A tightly wooded 18-hole course, it’s fun for beginners and a challenge for experts. After a successful 9-hole trial from 2005 until 2007, the course was expanded to to it’s current 18-hole form. The grand opening was on March 31st, 2007.
The Golden Gate Disc Golf Course was built and is maintained completely by volunteers. The SFDGC hosts course work parties every other month to keep the course looking in great shape. Work parties are a great way to get to know some new disc golfers as well as a chance to help give something back to disc golf in San Francisco. If you take the time to play the course, please take the time to volunteer.
